Wildlife and environment

What are your concerns about the effects on the wildlife and Erewash countryside in general if the proposed development and access roads go ahead?

Wildlife habitats

I am concerned that wildlife will be adversely affected by the proposed development and will be looking into the development in more detail. We must identify and protect any wildlife habitats that this development affects to minimise loss of biodiversity in our already pressured environment.

Stanton site

I am very concerned about the wildlife rich Stanton Ironworks site. This area is an absolute haven for wildlife. What are Spring proposing to protect this incredibly rich area?

The Proposed Road across the countryside

This is the first bit of proper countryside you get to west of Nottingham.  The proposed road will cut through this area which loads of folk use for running, walking, cycling.  What are the council thinking - they must force Spring to spend the extra money to take the road through the mainly brownfield land via Totan sidings.  The government are supposed to be concerned about obeisty & death through heart attacks etc.  We need to get people to exercise more, so we need these green spaces.  They need to conserve areas like this.  Spring are going to make millions from this if it goes ahead so make them pay!

The Proposed Road across the countryside

I agree completely. All the people I know think of No Mans Lane as a place to breathe fresh air and escape. I would be tragic to lose this.

Rare Environment

It would be sad to contaminate and possibly lose the crystal clear water of the newly rising Golden Brook in Hopwell.
It is the insects which are nourished in this clear water which provide the food for the bats in this area

cycling

i`ve spent years and years as a racing cyclist training up no mans lane, using a circuit down potato pit lane to turn right to go back to stanton village then up golf course hill then right up no mans lane .to "my" finish line, the crooked tree.i do lap after lap, rarely absorbing the beauty untill my pain and fatigue are over.then i stand look around and take in the view of crich, nottingham, leicestershire and notts etc etc.totally out of this world on a good day,and mystical on a dreary day.the only place i know with its own weather front.let me get this right, the government wants to go green.i spend my life squeezing tin cans ,cardboard boxes and plastic milk bottles into pathetic green bags,to save the world.meanwhile erewash borough council, yes you,are promoting global warming with more businesses more houses ,more cars to get to these places, destroying the habitat of animals which promote the eco system of our world.then i look over shipley park, and i hear the government saying ,more green power, but however we`ll dig all the fields ,woods etc up for coal.sorry all you coucellors ,politicians ,about time you stopped preaching to us like we`re all devoid of brain cells and stop think about pockets you can line and beds you can feather and start practising what your preaching.simple, put up or shut up.
