Wildlife overview
The Erewash valley in Derbyshire is an area rich in wildlife, that is enjoyed by thousands of naturalists, walkers, cyclists, horse riders and other leisure users. Many common species are priority BAP species, as listed in the Lowland Derbyshire Biodiversity Action Plan.
Brown hare, great crested newt, badger, grass snake, bullfinch, skylark, grey partridge, lapwing, tree sparrow, yellow hammer and bats are just a few of the species that have been found along the route of the proposed road and on the Stanton Iron Works site.

Reporting wildlife
Please send us any wildlife sightings so they can be added to the county records. Send us the following information: Species, Grid reference (use this map as a guide), Date, Observer, Sex (if known), Activity (e.g. feeding), Number.
