There are many ways that you can voice your concerns about the proposed development:
Contact Democratic Services at Erewash Borough Council:
They will forward your query to the relevant council section. Write to The Monitoring Officer, Town Hall, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 5RP, or email democraticservices@erewash.gov.uk. If it is specifically a planning query, it can be addressed directly to Erewash Borough Council Planning Dept.
Contact your Derbshire County Council councillor:
Particularly if you know them personally. Contact details for your councillor can be found at http://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/council/councillors or write to them at Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock, DE4 3AG.
Contact your local Parish Council:
They usually meet monthly with a short public session at the start of each meeting and generally welcome your interest. Ask them to invite your local EBC councillors to their meeting so they can take your questions.
Post questions on the Erewash Community Forum:
These can be submitted online at http://www.erewash.gov.uk/community_and_living/community_forums, on the council web site. Questions are also taken at the actual meetings. The dates of these meetings are posted but be very careful to check the venue.
Contact your Erewash MP:
Jessica Lee: http://www.conservatives.com/People/Members_of_Parliament/Lee_Jessica.aspx.
Email your local councillors:
Find your councillor here: http://www2.erewash.gov.uk/moderngov/mgMemberIndex.aspx?bcr=1 on the Erewash Borough Council web site.
Write to local newspapers:

If the proposals impact the interests of other groups you are involved with, for example, ramblers, cycling and walking clubs, wildlife groups, CPRE, National Trust, etc., coordinated action as a group may be more effective.
