Archaeological sites along the route of the proposed road are listed below. This information has been kindly supplied by a local archaeologist.
Research to date is limited to the section between No Man's Lane, Risley and Peatmeadow Farm:
- Romano British farm in immediate vicinity of Park Farm, Risley.
- Quantity of stone objects either Romano British or medieval near Orchard Cottage.
- Site of Wood Hall occupied between 12th and 17th centuries.
- Site of Paradise Cottage adjacent to Wood Hall occupied from 17th to mid 20th century.
- Site of discovery of embossed silver salver of Roman period discovered when ploughing near Wood Hall in 18th century.
- Risley, Woodhall, Hopwell medieval deer parks (sections of boundary ditches and ancient hedge lines still visible.
- Romano British pottery shards thinly scattered across most fields within the above section indicate arable farming during that period.
